Vestibular rehabilitation

A thorough assessment of the vestibular system and upper cervicogenic structures of the neck can determine the cause for dizziness, vertigo and unsteadiness. Infections in the inner ear or trauma to the head can cause dysfunction in the vestibular system.  Vestibular rehabilitation can reverse certain conditions, i.e. Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) or retrain another systems, like the eyes and proprioceptive system, to take over these functions if the damage is permanent.
